Description

Santo Caliz

During the Muslim occupation of the Iberic peninsula, the Santo Caliz went into hiding and was taken deep into the Pyrenees.

I've sculpted the ruins in 3D-Coat.

There is little to say about perfection in a 3D image! WOW!

I have only one comment/question about the chalice.

It is your desire, as the artist of this marvelous piece, to make the viewer have an emotional realization experience when they notice the chalice on their own? <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="15" height="30" alt=":?" title=":? (Confused)"/>

There are several "story line scenarios" you could have chosen for the emphasis and manifestation. Here are a couple of choices I see:

1. Adding a glow to the chalice, to give it a more mystical realization.
2. Moving the chalice into the sunlight to give it a substantial impact, promoting its legitimacy in the story line.
3. Add a reflective glow to the knight announce his revelation or discovery, depending on how the chalice is presented.
...

I am sure their are other ways to add some drama or emphasis.

The reason I mention this, is that the high image contrast softens the impact of the knight and/or the chalice, which seem to be the purpose of the image. unfortunately, my attention is anchored to the big ivy covered rock in the center left.

So I challenge you to perhaps modify the story line a teeny bit, and better define a point of interest to solidify the point of the image.
